January and Spring Festival Preparations

All huddled around a space heater under the table playing cards.
We had a good hazy week
Chinese New Year aka Spring Festival is just around the corner, so EVERYWHERE you look, there are meats drying in preparation for the big feasts.

Unit 3 winners
I had a delicious lunch with some new friends- some college students home for vacation. The grandmother prepared a feast for us

All of my favourite dishes <3 <3 <3
Clove, Hannie and Chenchen
Socks, meat, undies
WOO!!!
Best dumpling/baozi place in town!

This was pretty cool. She was moving pretty quickly always in control with the ball
Yummy dirty water and smog...

Can you spot all the meats?

Green and grey
First snow!

The cold and the snow lead to an uprising among the students- they were freezing and SICK OF SCHOOL! It was crazy, all classes were waving flags, chanting, trying to get out of school. (In the end, the students won! Their final exams were moved to next month. GO STUDENTS!!!)

Our veggie gardens

A lovely afternoon with my sweet students Shirley, Sunflower and Dolores. They were so, so, so sweet. Gosh I'm so lucky.

Poprice- like popcorn but rice, because Asia. It basically tastes like ricecakes.

My last dinner in Huarong (before vacation) at my favorite pulled noodles shop in town.
