A quick trip to Zhangjiajie

This past weekend, my good friend Tracy and I went on a quick trip to Zhangjiajie- a famous city in Hunan known for it's beautiful mountains. The main purpose of this trip was to reunite with an old friend, Elizabeth. I hadn't seen her in 10 years (!!!) and it was awesome to be able to catch up again in China, of all places. In Zhangjiajie we didn't get to see much because we only had 2 half days to explore, so we didn't have enough time to explore the national park. However, we still explored some of the city, the big Tianmen mountain which is right by the city, and a park dedicated to the Tujia people of Zhangjiajie. I definitely want to go back soon to see the park and actually spend time wandering in the beautiful nature.

The world's longest cable car ride- 7,4 km and about a 20 minute ride. It was awesome!

LOOK AT THIS CABLE CAR RIDE!!! INSANITY
On the way back, we took a bus which wound its way down this road. It was basically a roller coaster ride except with no seatbelts.

Our little slippers for the glass walkway

OH okay, thanks for the heads up.

Welcome to my life in China- pictures with so, so, so, so many strangers -_-
Forest of Wishes on Tianmen Mountain

Each ribbon has a wish on it

Of course they have fun suspension bridges

The temple on top

 SO COOL.
"TALK TO THE HAND!!!"

And then the sun came out... <3

This road though...

Some time ago, this guy climbed all the way to the top without a safety harness. Pretty cool.

And then we took the 999 stairs to the bottom

Yummy yummy breakfast
Zhangjiajie in the morning <3

Old artifacts... nothing was labeled except for the teapot... the most obvious one.

SO MANY GOLDFISH

This was before he decided to surprise me by jumping on my back and climbing down into my shirt.
Yummy Chinese radish of sorts...

Zhangjiajie
We still had some time to spare before our bus left so we chilled out in a great park in Zhangjiajie.

All tuckered out <3
